dBMgallo demonstrates, through stunning visuals and sound, the importance of  Ireland’s presence at such a culturally significant global event. The film moves  poetically through the processes involved in creating a national pavilion from the arrival of the archive by boat, through the installation, and the final interplay with the public.

A companion to dBMgallo, this film brings together in words the thoughts, ideas and considerations of key participants behind the development of the exhibition. Together, Irish  Architecture Foundation director, Nathalie Weadick, curators Tom dePaor, Peter Maybury, Alice Casey and Cian Deegan, and exhibition contributors Denis O’Brien (client of de Blacam and Meagher) and Simon Walker (architect) offer insights into what inspired the project, how it developed and evolved, and it’s ultimate realisation in the oratory of San Gallo in Venice.
