For this exhibition in Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane, the curators have reconfigured the layout in response to the architecture of the Sculpture Hall, and thus the formation has evolved from the grid pattern of San Gallo in Venice.
The audience is a participant, and they are invited to remove a volume from each stack, roll it or fold it and take it away. Over time the stacks will be depleted, until finally we are left only with the furniture. By the end of the tour the archive will, in essence, be consumed.
A DVD containing two short films by Ruán Magan about the exhibition was commissioned and is available to purchase in Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane bookshop. One of the films dBMgalloWORDS, which contains interviews by the key participants behind the development of the exhibition, is presented on a screen outside the bookshop during the exhibition.
